SPEAKING

Do you need a speaker for your next event?

I have been a speaker and educator for over 25 years so I know how to connect with an audience. I have a true love for people and it is always my goal to be transparent and honest in my presentations, to let everyone know I truly care. I want to help make your event a success. In addition to my scheduled talks, I also offer personalized talks around your needs. Here are 3 things you can expect from me:

Connect

I would love to personally chat so I can get a better understanding of your event, your audience, goals for the event, and how I may be able to help you.

Promote

I’ll help you promote your event by sharing on my social media channels (if your event is open to the public).

Prepared

I plan to share a relevant and engaging presentation that supports your vision for the event.

If I Looked A Certain Way, I Would Be Happy

Most women can relate to this in some form or another. Our world is full of images, technology, the Internet, Facebook, Instagram—all sharing images of what the “perfect body” looks like and what we should all aspire to look like. And if we don’t match up to this ideal we can feel terrible about ourselves causing us to feel “less than”, depressed, or lose any sense of confidence .

In this transparent and honest talk, I will share:

  • How what people saw on television at the Miss USA pageant was not a true illustration of what was truly going on with me on the inside.
  • About my years of struggle with self image and many other relatable stories.
  • My struggles with this topic and how I changed my whole thought process around it.

You will walk away with a better understanding that everyone deals with “stuff” and not to compare your life to someone else’s highlight reel. I will give you the tools you need to begin taking control of your self-sabotaging thoughts and have a better understanding of how to truly begin the process of loving yourself just the way you are.

This is a great talk for women of all ages! No matter if you are a teenager trying to “fit in” with what society is telling you, a mom feeling like she is always trying to keep up, or a woman that just feels that as she is aging she just isn’t “enough” anymore, this talk is for you!

FEAR—Stories We Tell Ourselves

Have you ever felt like the fear of something held you back? Have you used excuses to stop you from going after something you have always wanted? “I don’t have enough money”, “I don’t have the time”, or “what will people think” are often used when you are presented with an opportunity for change or advancement. Fear is often what holds you back from your success, living life to its fullest, and new experiences.

Fear has a way of putting detour signs up in our life’s journey.

Let me teach you what I have learned through my own missed opportunities:

  • Confronting your fears, and often realizing that the worst case scenario is not as bad as you think.
  • The benefits of change are often worth the risk.
  • Sometimes change is just what the doctor ordered.
  • “Fear kills more dreams than failure ever will”

Leave feeling empowered to face your fears head on. Making a big change is scary, but regret is even scarier. It’s all the little blessings that come when you decide to get out of your comfort zone and do something different. Make a change, it could be leading you to a new beginning.

Helene Lerner once wrote, “Fear can prevent us from achieving great heights of success by distorting reality or being grounded in false beliefs. Stepping up and taking action allows us to move through those fears. However, taking action itself can foster fear by pushing us outside our comfort zone. But that’s okay because being challenged means we’re growing. Confidence doesn’t require fearlessness, rather the ability to step into uncharted territory and get comfortable with the uncomfortable.”

Let’s Dream Again – Re-igniting the dreamer in you!

Do you remember being a kid and someone asking you what you wanted to be when you grew up? The opportunities were endless. Ask any six-year-old what they want to be when they grow up, and you’ll get all kinds of great answers. They’ll tell you exactly what they want to be with such animation and excitement in their voices.

Somewhere along the line, those dream get lost or we just stop dreaming altogether. We think we can’t achieve the things we want because:

  • Someone told us we couldn’t do it
  • It seems like too much work—too hard.
  • We feel like that part of our life is over and it’s just too late for any new goals.
  • We think big dreams only happen for everyone else.

I am going to share a time in my life when I just felt completely empty. I had lost that fire, that excitement of trying something new, of pushing myself to achieve any goals. I realized when I really started soul searching that it was because I just felt like that part of my life was over. Can you relate at all?
