The misconception is…being healthy means eating salads

The World Health Organization defines health as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

Being healthy means so much more than eating salads and getting exercise every day. For most people, when they think of the word “healthy” they automatically think it is time for a strict diet and a high-intensity exercise program to lose excess weight. But it means so much more. There are so many different aspects to the word healthy, and for me, being a healthy person is all about balance in every aspect of my life. The key to living a healthy life is trying to make sure all of these areas are well-balanced.

BUT lets get real for a minute, for most people, eating healthy and exercising is the area of their life where they really feel out of control and need help. Positive Change 4U was developed to help people learn about food and how it effects the body. I teach this in an “easy to understand” way that will help you take control of your eating by understanding how food effects your body. I teach people how to makes small changes, one day at a time, to eat for energy, health, and get control back from their cravings.

A message from Lisa

My passion is promoting a lifestyle of total health and the commitment to share my vision with others. Taking our health seriously and realizing we have one body to take care of in our lifetime is very important. I became interested in health and wellness in my teenage years. My journey has taken many twists and turns over the years but every experience, every so-called diet, every mistake and every success has made me who I am today. I can’t even begin to explain the passion I have inside of me to help people understand the importance of taking their health seriously and what they can do to start making some very important changes. Positive changes!
I think the most life-changing event for me was when my nine-year-old daughter was diagnosed with type 1 (juvenile) diabetes. Unlike type 2 diabetes, this is a disease that is not brought on by poor lifestyle choices or being overweight, your body just stops producing insulin, which is vital for life.

When your child is diagnosed, it literally breaks your heart and changes you and your family forever. Our daughter immediately went on four shots and 6-8 finger pricks every day. Six months into the disease we had her on Insulin pump. I share this with you to make a very strong point. If a nine-year-old little girl can change her lifestyle, take care of herself, and exercise to live a long healthy life, then you certainly can do the same. No excuses! I created this program for the purpose of teaching people how to lead a healthier life so that they will have more energy and vitality to enjoy their life.
